NAUI Instructor Training Courses in Kumamoto

The NAUI ITC is most probably the most complete and best Instructor level course available today within the recreational scuba diving industry. NAUI doesn't strive for volume as other associations do, but for quality training. We all believe that it will be beneficial for the entire industry to train less but better qualified divers and dive leaders, who are going to serve better their fellow divers, train better and safer divers, and be more responsible in general environmental issue. It is a matter of fact that an increased volume will result in a decrease of quality service and training. After all, there is a market for the fast food industry as there is also a market for the quality products and services of caterers and 3* restaurants with highly qualified chefs, it is only a matter of individual choice. We strongly believe that when it comes to safety and confidence in an activity which could be potentially dangerous without the adequate training and attention, our commitment must be optimal to the safety of our students.
NAUI Instructor programs are giving the best pedagogical tools today to achieve this goal, and to train competent, safe and confident divers who will be excellent dive buddies for the instructor "loved ones".
For all NAUI Instructor courses and continuing education programs and workshops, your Course Director will be Frederick Claro, probably the most active NAUI Course Director worldwide. He has over two decades of experience to back up his teaching, and he has trained over 300 Instructors multi agency, since 1992.

We will schedule two NAUI ITCS per year in Kumamoto. To join the program, one must be a certified NAUI Assistant Instructor or Divemaster, or a dive leader of any recognized agency such as PADI, SSI, CMAS (3* DIVER), YMCA, NASDS, ACUC, etc...and have a minimum of  80 logged dives. a two days ITC-Preparatory course will be mandatory for the candidates who are not NAUI leaders. The candidate must be 18 year old minimum and own his/her diving equipment (tanks and weights will be provided during the training).
If you already are an instructor from one of those agencies and wish to crossover to NAUI, the crossover course could be schedule in two week ends, or 4 days. It is also the first 4 days of the regular ITC.
The ITC is a 8 days program (plus 2 more days if the Prep-Course is necessary), divided in two segments: the Instructor Training Program, or ITP, where we will teach you how to become a good, safe, competent, and successful instructor. Then comes the Instructor Qualification Program or IQP, where the candidates are evaluated in the last two days, to meet specific standard requirements and be certified (...or not) as a NAUI Instructor.

Our NAUI ITC will provide all educational materials in English, pool training, open water training, academic sessions in classroom, tanks and weights. The NAUI fees for new instructors upon successfully completion of the course is 210 US$, renewal of membership is 120 US$ per year. Please contact us for schedule and prices.

NAUI Instructor Continuing Education

One of the most important thing for an instructor is to keep active in training and develop more knowledge and skills beyond core courses to increase the personal level of professionalism. All instructors should train as  First Aid and CPR Instructor and Staff Evaluator for Instructor Courses. We have been training our own staff for years and we develop an international network of staff instructors and instructor trainers in various places such as Bulgaria, Lebanon, Thailand, Malaysia, British Virgin Island, Romania, Maldives, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Sweden.
Our wish is to train our own staff here in Kumamoto to train efficiently all new instructor candidates. We will always agree that the best training comes from the team work of a well rounded educational team, who is giving the essence of their experiences to the candidates.
The following programs and courses are available in Kumamoto:
-NAUI /ASHI First Aid and CPR Instructor.
-Staff Instructor Workshop: become a staff evaluator of the ITCs and Crossovers.
